Style magazine recently did a piece on Georgia May Jagger and her makeup-bag must-haves—which I thoroughly enjoyed reading. What I found interesting is her no nonsense approach to a natural makeup look, her down-to-earth vibe and her love for Rimmel beauty products.
She calls two legends—Jerry Hall and Mick Jagger—Mum and Dad. You don’t need a PhD in genetics to know that Georgia May Jagger was born to be a star. With her pouty lips and blond-bombshell locks, the 21-year-old model has had no trouble stealing the spotlight from her iconic parents.
Jagger is coming off a huge runway season, having landed spots in the Spring ’14 shows of Marc Jacobs, Alexander Wang, and Balmain, and she currently acts as the face of not one, but two British brands: Hudson Jeans and cosmetics giant Rimmel London.
Of the latter she said, “I grew up with it and the Kate Moss ads.” While she’s traded the pink gloss she once favored for more sophisticated tubes of lipstick, she continues to experiment—wearing Studio 54-worthy eye shadow and a silver sequin minidress one day, a bare face and trainers the next. “I don’t like to have that many rules,” Jagger notes.
Here, Georgia shares her best beauty secrets—including the keys to keeping her gap-toothed grin in camera-ready shape and the one thing that has her and fellow catwalker Cara Delevingne hooked.
LIVE LIVE & ORGANIC BEE YUMMY SKIN FOOD
“You’ve got to use a moisturizer to keep your skin looking fresh, and follow it up with a primer before blending in makeup. This one from Live Live & Organic, in New York City, is my favourite.”
RIMMEL LONDON STAY MATTE LIQUID MOUSSE FOUNDATION AND BBE CREAM MATTE
“I use a combination foundation on my cheeks and BB cream around my nose and areas that are a bit dryer.”
RIMMEL LONDON STAY BLUSHED! LIQUID CHEEK TINT
“Powder blushes don’t look natural. With a cream blush, you can rub it in and use a bit on your lips for those emergency situations when you don’t have a big makeup bag with you.”
ANTIPODES SAVIOR SKIN BALM
“I like this pot because it’s natural and multipurpose. I’ll use it on my lips—and even on my cheeks to add shine.”
TRACIE MARTYN’S LOTUSCULPT EYE PADS & LOTUSSCULPT ACTIVATOR
“I put these under-eye pads on in the car if I have an hour drive to a shoot. I’ll sit there until they’re dry and take them off right before I run in. I’m waiting for the day that I forget and walk into (a job) with them on!”
TRACIE MARTYN ENZYME EXFOLIANT
“The exfoliator that Tracie Martyn makes is amazing. It’s good to use after you’ve had loads of makeup put on and taken off.”
EVE LOM MUSLIN CLOTHS
“Steaming your face with a hot flannel is really good—I use the kind from Eve Lom. After all the shows, I got into the habit of doing it every night.”
PHILIP KINGSLEY ELASTICIZER PRE-SHAMPOO TREATMENT
“It’s really hard to recover after (a lot of styling)—you almost need a haircut. I use Philip Kingsley’s Elasticizer mask and try not to blow-dry or straighten my hair every day. Sometimes I’ll also apply avocado oil—like the kind you’d use on your salad—all the way through, but (concentrate) more on the ends.”
TANGLE TEEZER ORIGINAL AND COMPACT STYLER
“The Tangle Teezer is a gift to models everywhere. I used to have such a hard time when my hair was back-combed that I’d just leave the (show or photo-shoot), go out for a bit, and then I’d get home, look in the mirror and say, “Oh, my God!”
BUMBLE AND BUMBLE SURF SPRAY
“My mum uses hot rollers, and she’s done them on me before, but I’m not very good with those things. I usually just scrunch dry my hair or use a surf spray to make waves.”
RIMMEL LONDON SCANDALEYES THICK & THIN LINER
“The way that they did the liner at Marc Jacob—going into the corner of your eyes—can change their shape completely. My mum tips her head down when she uses liquid, which is supposed to make (applying) it easier. I use Q-tips to try to get the flicks right, but I’m still not a pro. I start with my bad eye first and hope for the best.”
RIMMEL LONDON SCANDAL EYES SHADOW PAINT IN GOLDEN BRONZE AND RICH RUSSET
“I usually end up going back to an eye shadow because these sticks are very easy to use, even with your finger—sometimes that’s the best tool.”
RIMMEL LONDON LASTING FINISH MATTE BY KATE MOSS LIPSTICK IN 110 AND 107
“I like doing plain matte skin and then a great lipstick. I like orangey (hues) or darker colors—I’m less into traditional reds.”
JASON SEA FRESH STRENGTHENING TOOTHPASTE AND RADIUS SOURCE TOOTHBRUSH
“I’ve heard that flouride is bad for your teeth, so I use more natural toothpastes, like Sea Fresh. My toothbrush is even made out of recycled dollar bills—the whole family has them! I figured that I keep using different ones all the time and leaving them behind (in hotels), so I thought I’d try to get something that is more friendly to the environment.”
365 EVERYDAY VALUE ESSENTIAL OIL LAVENDER
“I’m obsessed with baths, and I like to put a bit of lavender oil in them. I bring my computer (into the bathroom) and watch movies or different seasons of TV, I have iTunes, so I’m watching Scandal—it’s really bad, but really good. I am very invested, and I have to say that I’ve gotten my friend Cara Delevigne into it. At first, she was laughing at me, but now she’s the one who find shows for us.”
NATURE MADE TURMERIC CURCUMIN CAPSULES
“When I’m travelling, I take curcumin, which is an (antioxidant derived) from turmeric that’s quite good. My agent got it from an herbalist to help with my psoriasis.”
LIQUITERIA KILLER XX AND JUICE PRESS JUST WATERMELON
“In London, we don’t have many juice-press places, so it’s kind of a New Yorker treat for me. I like Killer XX with ginger from Liquiteria and watermelon juice from Juice Press.”
BEAUTY ICONS: JERRY HALL AND ELIZABETH JAGGER
“My mum and my sister have really great style. We all like curls and are quite into hair and lipstick. We each have our (go-to) shades: mine is more orangey-red, Lizzy’s is a tall darker and my mom wears a real classic red.”
