The 7 Deadly Sins of Beauty TAG

Image

When Ginger Loves Make-Up tagged me with this, it immediately piqued my interest. This tag in particular is obviously all about the seven deadly sins but with a beauty blogger twist! Don’t scoff—you know you’ve been guilty of at least one of these cardinal sins when it comes to beauty and makeup:) Hope you enjoy the read!

Greed: What’s your most expensive beauty item?
Currently my most expensive beauty item is my favorite perfume by Viktor & Rolf—Flowerbomb. Can’t get enough of this stuff!

Image

Wrath: What item do you have a strong love/hate relationship with?
I have a strong love/hate relationship with liquid eyeliners (brush tip or marker tip) in general (no specific brand).

Image

Overall, my rant with this product is that it gets really messy if you don’t apply it right. I sometimes use liquid eyeliner on my eye lid because I like to wing it out, but if I’m ever just feeling lazy and I just want to just line my eyes and waterline, I find it easier to use a pencil.

Gluttony: What brand takes up most of your collection?
I would have to say that currently my MAC and e.l.f cosmetics are tied for this spot right now. I’ve been a loyal MAC customer since the early 90’s—I love that this Canadian cosmetic company embodies ‘all ages, all styles, and all races’ policy,

I love the color payoff and the unique selections they offer, and I love the aura at the counter or the store. I actually had my very first EVER makeover done at MAC and the rest is history.

But I’m also crazy about my e.l.f collection because most of the products I do have actually can compete with MAC products and are just as good (and what’s better are the price points!).

Sloth: What product do you ignore the most due to laziness?
I guess that would probably be mascara for me.

Image

Sometimes I just skip that part out of my casual everyday makeup routine entirely and just curl my lashes instead.

Image

Pride: Which product gives you the most confidence?
My red/plum/burgundy lipsticks. I can be without a stitch of makeup on, but once I apply any of my red/plum or burgundy lipsticks, my confidence level sky rockets:)

Image

Lust: What item is at the top of your list?
I’ve been lusting for this luxurious professional-grade eyeshadow since last fall: it’s the Kevyn Aucoin Essential Eye Shadow No. 109, Burgundy. I’ve seen it priced as high as $60! Hopefully one day, it will no longer be on my lust list, but instead my SPLURGE buy!

I also wanted to include a skin care product I have been lusting for ages, which is the legendary Crème de la Mer moisturizing cream.

A 2 oz container costs $285—which means I won’t be splurging on this anytime soon:(

Envy: Which makeup product/look looks great on others but not on you?
As much as I love the nude lip look on others, I find it doesn’t look so great on me sometimes.

Celebrity stars like J-Lo totally rock the nude lip department.

Nude lipsticks tend to wash me out, unless I go really dramatic with my eyes just to give more pop to my face. So I usually go for nude lipglosses rather than lipsticks to add more shine and dimension to my lips.

Lately, I find I have been reaching for Benefits Sugarbomb Ultra Plush Lipgloss which for me is the perfect nude look with a bit of shine. Check out my review here.
